DayOne — what to expect
Your employer sent a secure link. About 10–15 minutes on your phone. No app install.
DayOne is how you finish required US hire forms before your first day: W-4, I-9 Section 1, and (where needed) state withholding. You enter shared details once; they reuse across every form.
How easy it is
- Open the link from email or text — phone or computer.
- Photo of your ID — US passport or driver’s licence. We read the details (OCR) so you are not typing everything from scratch.
- Confirm name, address, and date of birth. Fix anything the photo got wrong.
- Answer form-only questions (withholding elections, I-9 attestation) and enter your Social Security number.
- Type your full legal name to sign. You’re done until Day One.
At launch: passport and driver’s licence photo OCR for prefill.
Wallet presentment and bank / selfie IDV are not required (and not offered) for this launch.
Prefer typing? Choose manual entry instead of a scan.
What to have ready
- A clear photo of your US passport or driver’s licence (or type details manually).
- Your Social Security number.
- A quiet minute to answer W-4 / I-9 questions honestly.
What happens on Day One
Online forms do not replace I-9 Section 2. Bring original List A or List B + C documents so HR can examine them in person (usually within three business days of your start). Photocopies alone are not enough.
Common questions
Do I need to download an app?
No. The DayOne link opens in your browser.
Is a selfie or bank login required?
No for launch. We only offer a photo of your passport or driver’s licence for OCR prefill, or full manual entry.
Can I use Apple Wallet or Google Wallet?
Not at launch. Use a photo of the physical passport or licence, or type your details.
How long does it take?
Most people finish in about 10–15 minutes if they have their ID and SSN ready.
Who sees my information?
Your employer’s NewHirePack account and the sealed hire record they keep for compliance. Questions about pay or start logistics go to your employer, not NewHirePack support.
